North House Folk School is based on the Scandinavian Folk School tradition where learning is valued for its own sake. 

As an independent nonprofit, North House depends on the support of individuals, families and businesses.  Annual support from new individuals and current members raises essential funds that position North House to recruit new instructors, host public events, offer internships, improve campus resources, and more. 

Financial contributions are accepted throughout the year.  All contributions are fully tax deductible. 

The Goals of North House include

Create a rich, positive environment that inspires life-long learning in a non-competitive setting.

Promote and preserve the knowledge, skills, crafts and stories of the past and present.

Help students recognize and develop their creativity, talents and interests in a student-centered environment that affirms individual differences.
